It's theoretically better quality bandwidth and far less likely to ever experience a saturation\congestion issue compared with something shared like XGS-PON.Xfinity will give you 1.2Gbps down for a similar price (including introductory discounts) but 30Mbps up with no option of buying faster upload. That being said, if you have the option of going with AT&T Fiber, I would take that personally. It's only $20/month more than Verizon 5G Home, but you get symmetrical UP/DL with low latency/jitter/packet loss on a consistent basis. My goal is to find other service providers that aren't AT&T or Verizon, but can also provide decent internet. Edit: Additional information through the link. I'm glad I saw this before making any switch. I'd hate to get locked into an internet plan that caps my data and is already in control of my phone service.
