Ram 2500 stuck in 4th gear.
Restart the engine. If you have an emergency that must be attended to and your vehicle gets stuck on the 4th, it may be horrible. For a temporary fix, restarting the vehicle will be fine. While this is not an advisable option, it can get you out of tight spots when you need it. Change the Transmission fluid.

Nov 21, 2020 · Your transmission, the 48RE, does not have a Limp-In Mode. 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears are all hydraulic and 4th gear uses a solenoid and a transducer to engage the clutch along with the Torque Converter Clutch. I'm guessing that with a 2007 model your 48RE has some miles on it. When was the last time the pan was off.

Replaced PCM, Torque converter, Pump Assy, cluthes (the 4 cluthes were not burnt, but did have metal grit stuck in the friction material) Installed new clutch and 4C clutch retainer was melted to the reverse flush cooler. Installed new PCM and flashed PCM.
