John deere 1780 planter problems.
I have a JD 1780 16\31 planter that has a wiring issue seedstar with a brown box monitor. the planter has an erratic occurance that at different times i will lose control of frame control the monitor will tell me planter control box has failed and sometimes plant control box is missing. the problem arises when planting and occosianally even when trying to fold or unfold the planter.

Feb 19, 2011 · The 1770 has a better lifting system than the 7200 series . The 7200 the cylinders will get out of phase. We have had 12 row 7200, then 16 row 7200 and now 1770nt - 16 row with es sets. We have used Precisions finger pickup and vaccum units and both seed very well. I've seen the problem worse on Deere's 1780 style planter with the longer hitch on the 6/11 or 8/15 planters causing more side pressure on turns. I've always welded the units with no long term problems. The max emerge XP cast shanks first used in 2004 don't have this problem.

Just my 2 cents, the 1780 is not my favorite bar, when folded it is heavy on the draw bar, when turning on the ends the planter will pick up the weight on the draw bar making it difficult to make turns, will take front wheel assit to pull.
