123 posts · Joined 2011. #1 · Sep 17, 2012. So my 92 YJ 4.0L is leaking fuel, which I need to fix asap. Most of the threads I've seen is where the fuel line has been leaking towards the rear of the Jeep. Mine is right where it bends up to the engine bay, it's like a rubber hose.

Another lesser known factor one reaps when the return line recirculates unused fuel back to the tank is that the fuel doesn't get heat soaked setting in the line to get used. The engine "grabs what it needs" and sends the unused back to the cool gas tank for recirculation...less chance for engine vapor lock.

Double check. Just forward of the fuel tank, the line makes several sharp bends and also changes from rubber to metal line. 9 times out of 10, the leak is at this point. It's a much easier fix. you just undo the line, cut off the bad part by the end and re-attach.I've got an 88 Wrangler 2.5 EFI 5 spd.
