This noise is ongoing when engine is running/idling with transmition in Park or Neutral position but stops as soon as shifted to Drive or Reverse (without driving).Ask to hear another cmax and compare. Know that the transmission is covered under hybrid components for 8yrs/100k miles. Also that loud whine was an indication of a failure coming where the gas engine engages something like a bearing, not sure I don’t remember.4. Torque Converter.
