Springfield prodigy vs staccato p.
Part of my decision was - I had the money for the Staccato now. So it would be easier to buy the Staccato now, and then easier to come up with less $$ if I wanted to add a Prodigy later. Love the Staccato P. Have not had the desire to go back and add the prodigy. HOWEVER, I have added a Sig P229 Legion SAO since buying the Staccato P.

Staccato Ps don't need to cost $2.5k, but it's foolish to expect a pistol thats $1k cheaper to be "just as good". No free lunch and Staccato is still the baseline for a double stack that honest to goodness works from the start. Fuck Wilson Combat as a company. Some will also say cost difference justifies better build quality on Staccato, but I personally disagree. Regardless, the most noticeable/used benefit being new to the platform would likely be the Dawson guide rod and you can add that to prodigy for like $60 or so. IMO (having owned a P DUO and picked up a Prodigy this morning) the Staccato has better build quality. The frame and slide finish is superior, the slide to rail fitment is slightly better (slide racks more smoothly on the Staccato) and the Staccato trigger is slightly crisper and lighter.
