Ram rotary shifter stuck in park.
One member even traded his 2015 Ram for a 2013 with a column shifter after he had trouble with the knob shifter. I don't recall what kind of issue he had with the knob. I stayed away from this Knob shifter. I wanted either a column Shifter or a console shifter so I was looking at 2012 and 2013s with low mileage when I looked to upgrade to a 4x4.

My dad and I replaced a faulty clock springing a 2011 ram 1500 slt 5.7, after putting everything back together, the truck wouldn't start and the gear indicator on the dash says the truck is in reverse. I tried the shifter override and it didnt help.1) Set the emergency brake. 2) Insert key into the ignition and turn the ignition switch to the “ON” or “RUN” position. It is not necessary to start the engine. 3) Locate the shift lock override slot located on the shifter console near the shifter lever. Normally, the slot is plugged with a small plastic cap.I then tried going to Park (which was possible and tried turning the vehicle off, but on the EVIC the message popped up “Vehicle Not in Park”. It would not allow the push button ignition to go to “Off”, but the engine did actually turn off. I went through sequence again and same results. Dealer could not fix it but Midas in Seaford NY changed the shifter cable from steering column to transmission after changing brake switch which helped a little but with shifter cable replaced all is working great.2011. Try starting the vehicle in park and giving it a few seconds, then apply the brake for a couple seconds before shifting.

The shifter on my 2006 2500 has been sticky since I bought it, but finally the other day I went to shift it into drive and the whole shifter fell. I was able to put it into drive by using the switch underneath and got it home.
