Ptr 91 wood.
I own a PTR-91 and it's a nice rifle for a decent price. AR-10s seem like an obvious option for a more modern rifle for similar price. I didn't buy my PTR as a practical fighting rifle, but mostly as a range toy. It's a capable firearm, but there are better, more modern options. There are things I like enjoy about it:

The HK gunsmiths baseline price for a PTR91 rebarrel was $450. The HK Gunsmith I used was referred by Ghilliebear.
