I got a M9A1 Compact Inox in a trade a month or so back and I was pretty amazed at how many tool marks were present on the inside of the slide. Ok, so I have tried various grips including the stock plastic Beretta ones, Uncle Mikes rubberized and the walnut Beretta ones and have never been happy with the feel of the weapon in my hand. The Hogue rubber wrap around with the finger grooves actually makes the weapon feel like an extension of my body vs. just holding it in my hand.

Meh, those are extremely few and far between. Like OP said, most of the complaints are cosmetic…machine marks among other things. I personally would get a cheap M9A1, sell the slide, but a Langdon optic-ready slide, and then send the frame off to get the Langdon trigger work.
