Update: I just picked up the Wii U last night and it turned out that MK8 was indeed linked to the console and not the an NNID. Next to that the owner didn't play much on the console at all and never even bothered to create a NNID. I didn't have to wipe the machine because of that, which was quite convenient.My idea, which I haven't been able to try yet, is: Move everything to a USB drive. Do a NAND backup.
