Part of the reason Honda is still using the 9-speed is because they can't make enough of their new 10-speed for all applications. The 9-speed replaced the 6-speed in phases just like the 10-speed will eventually replace the 9-speed. It can't happen all at once. Honda has to decide which models will get the new stuff first.
