I absolutely LOVE ZERO my playtime proves it (30+ days) anyways I myself can only solo Hyperius and and Pete. Hyperius is pretty straight forward you are just going to need 4 things a DP Harold, a singularity grenade (slag preferred), a good bee, and the skill B0re.Sweet Release is always useful. I much prefer it over Mind's Eye. The crit bonus of Mind's Eye is nice, sometimes I get it too, but melee becomes useless in UVHM as Maya. I guess it's more useful if you're playing solo. For healing, I basically throw longbow storm front then swtich to my grog to get my hp back.
This BL2 Siren (Maya) Build is excellent for normal and true vault hunter mode, designed towards solo play with co-op potential. A straight forward build and very handy in either situation, with great crowd control and elemental damage potential.

She has a few sniper-friendly skills and it gives you a great overview of the battlefield so you can more easily prioritize either healing teammates or controlling enemies.
My recommendation for your build is when you get to level 50 and get your hands on your legendary class mod you put at least 1 point in 5 skills it builds so you have 6/5 in a least 5 of your 1rst level skills out of the six available. Powerful Maya Build. So, I totally just found a really great synergy for a maya build. Using the Grog Nozzle from Dragon Keep, just use the Cloud Kill perk and max the Flicker perk.
