A few weeks ago, I bought a Phoenix Arms HP22. I had been disappointed with the fact that most "small" .22 pistols are larger than the Kel-Tec .380s and 9mms. The HP22A model is a compact handgun in the 22lr (long rifle) caliber. It is made in Ontario, California and is one of the two guns produced by Phoenix Arms. It is semi-automatic with a 10 round magazine capacity. The model I own has a 3" barrel, but you can also buy or find them with a 5" "target" barrel for better long-range accuracy.

In my experience the HP22A pistol is a nice little pistol to carry on walks and for dispatching small animals. It's also a fun little plinking pistol. In my experience it is just as accurate as a Browning Buckmark or a Ruger 22/45 but is much more compact and less expensive. I like to shoot CCI QUIET-22 SEMI-AUTO 22 LR ammo in my HP22A's.
