Yeah, I think it is some kind of a bug. I did the same thing, lockpicked everything and then donated all the keys to Uktar in the guild. I even lockpicked the main vault before glitterbeard could give me the key. I even returned half his gold and pick-pocketed that out of him. Just rogue things I guess.
