2010 Rancher 420 not Starting. My father in law has a 2010 Rancher 420 that has been sitting in his basement for about a year. I put a battery in, turned the key and it was not in neutral. Pushing the shift buttons did nothing, so I manually got it in neutral. At this point it turned over, but did not start.

How to replace shift-shaft in rancher 420es. I bought this 2008 rancher last year with only about 300 miles in it. It never shifted right. I replaced the angle sensor and battery, but didn't help. I cleaned the shifter motor brushes as well. I think I finally found the problem- there is play on the spline of the shift shaft.
