Re: Harley 5 speed reverse. I have installed at least 4 Reverse Gear kits on a 5 speed gear box from Champion. The kit comes with very good instructions and the tool you need to install the actual extra gears. A Dremel tool with a good stone is a plus. They also have available to purchase, puller to remove the housing.
It was my first experience with a 6-speed after 40,000 miles on my 5-speed Ultra. Actually, I forgot that it had six, so we were cruising along at 65 to 75 mph with the normal noise and vibration at 3,000 rpms in 5th gear. Then I wondered if 07 was the first year for 6-speed.
