The main reason I like it is because it gives me a goal when waiting to be summoned. Killing the same batch of enemies over and over again infinitely isn't fun. Killing the enemies with the goal of despawning them is fun. Once I despawn them I burn an ascetic and fight the now-tougher boss again.
