The car is not overheating and still drives smooth. I have noticed a burnt type smell. I am taking the car in to be fixed but wanted some suggestions of what it might be and/ or cost.

The flashing odometer probably is because of a 'loss of communication' between the BCM (body control module) & radio. This fault code may be found in the BCM: U0184-00-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH RADIO. If communication can be established between a scan tool & the radio, it may accept a software update.

The thermostat was replaced about 2 years ago, the heater core just this year. It blows lukewarm air and that's about it. I don't hear any odd noises, the coolant level is good.
