You do not need to use twice as much PPTO. 8 hours will cover an 8 hour shift. It will not cover any points from a NCNS, so make sure to call in. There is no 9 minute grace period for using PPTO.That's not right. Using ppto on a ncns on a key date removes the 2 points for the keydate but still gives you 2 points for the ncns. Edit: Not sure if i've misread your post or not. A NcNs nets 3 points if its not a keydate. If you use ppto it till remove the 1 point for the absence, but still gives you the 2 points for the No call.Ie: 10-7 would be 8 hr ppto.
