I've noticed that the ES will turn off under a variety of conditions: fogged inside windshield; icing of windshield when using the washers in freezing weather; dense fog; very dense rain; and most recently by the sun's reflection off a wet roadway when driving into the sun.I have a 2020 Outback Limited with 28K.
