Pierce LBGs tend to be a bit better as you get later into master rank. Malzeno LBG, Shagaru LBG, Narga and now Lucent LBG are all really strong Pierce LBGs. There's not rly that many good endgame spread LBGs. And with Spread being a riskier ammo type, especially with the gunner defense modifier in master rank, that further compounds the issue.
meta is rapid pierce. malzeno lbg armor in sunbreak endgame can adapt a lot. but for your case i recomend getting Vaik helm. talking about helmet specificaly. reason: good slots. and ammo up +2 you only need ammo up +2 (NOT 3) rest of the set pick armor with skills in this order: 1 pierce up 2 rapid up 3 weakness exploit 4 extra shotSamiambadatdoter. • 4 yr. ago. Pierce can work if the monster is long enough and you're consistently shooting down the longest line of the monster, but generally speaking, spread is significantly easier to use and deals more damage since you can focus weak/ tenderized spots as well. Malzeno lbg can reload on the run and has good clip size, good raw and lv4 deco slot, as it's low base affinity I think it is best used for monsters with large weakpoints and utilize WE to help boost it crit chance. Overall it can achieve similar damage output to shagaru's lbg but should be used on monsters with large weakpoints.
RF Pierce 2 is a all rounder build that can handle most hunts. Single Elemental Piercing builds has the best DPS potential for all of bowgun builds, but these need to be set up depending on the match up. Rapid Fire Elemental Piercing is actually weaker than single elemental pierce DPS-wise, because it only shoots 2 bullets (RF Pierce 2 shoots 3 ...

Both magnamalo and zinogre don't use bullet zones, maggy uses no hitzones and zinogre uses blade zones.They're also semi-budget as well, since most of them just require a 2 Lv2 slots charm (Compared to Phemeto's "budget" builds requiring a Wex2 Lv3/Lv1 charm). Angbata is a good source too for budget builds or rather he does no charm builds. Talking about it quickly, low rank to high rank uses raw attack builds; normal, pierce 1, and pierce 2. For Master rank, you should focus on elemental builds, for my recommendation, I chose Elemental Pierce. It's more ideal for end game content (Anomaly Investigations).
