I had this issue as well before. I did some research and found a few things that I did that helped with this. 1. Took throttle body off and cleaned it. 2. Took hose/boot that goes from the air filter to the throttle body off and cleaned it. Had oil in it from where the PCV valve was clogged up. 3. Changed spark plugs.Possible that over time--- porosity in the spark plug tubes-- caused slight pooling of oil or coolant. when you removed the plug- the oil/coolant went into the cylinder. the smoke you saw- was the liquid being burned off.
