I have a CCC 782 SN 714899, as I understand it, when MTD set up Cub Cadet Corporation, production moved from Louisville, KY to Brownsville, TN. Again, from what I understand, the only change MTD/CCC made was to replace the IH Cast Iron rear end housing and helical cut gears with straight-cut gears in an aluminum housing.

The mower 44" mower deck had rust on it, the seat was shredded, the paint was faded, and it had the wrong rear tires and mismatched front ones.The remote oil filter setup was a rare option on the Kohler KT-17 Series II. None of the IH Cub Cadet Parts Manuals for the 782 reflect this option. However, that setup would be the same as seen on a Cub 1812 with a Kohler M-18, where that was a standard feature.

What I noticed tearing down a 1250 and comparing its mounting to the 782 engine bay is that I could even mount Quiet Line engines in the 782, although I would probably want at least a well-tuned 12 HP unit to power the hydralics.
