Most recently my temp gauge was all the way down and the engine fans were blowing on full blast. The first two things that come to mind are the blend door not moving and a "Deathcool" coolant (Dexcool coolant) blockage in heater core. The blend door is moved by a cable connected to the temperature control. A common failure is for the cable to come loose on either end.Cooling fans staying on after shutting engine off.
